Bhubaneswar: A high-level workshop on “Scaling AgriPV in Odisha for Climate-Resilient Growth” was held in the city today, bringing together policymakers, energy experts, developers, and representatives from the agriculture sector to deliberate on the future of agrivoltaics in the State.

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. On the occasion, several key initiatives were announced, including the release of the report “Empowering Farmers through AgriPV” by GRIDCO Ltd. and Vasudha Foundation, the launch of the Odisha State Energy Action Plan (OSEAP) web platform for long-term energy planning, installation of two 150-metre wind resource assessment masts at Subarnapur and Gopalpur in Ganjam district, and signing of battery energy storage purchase agreements for a 125 MW / 500 MWh BESS project across six substations.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo said AgriPV has the potential to enhance farmers’ incomes while supporting Odisha’s clean energy transition, aligning with the State’s vision of a climate-resilient and farmer-centric development model under Viksit Odisha.

Managing Director of GRIDCO, Satyapriya Rath, noted that AgriPV, combined with storage solutions and modern planning tools, can ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for rural communities.

The workshop concluded with detailed technical discussions on policy frameworks, financing models, and implementation strategies required to scale up AgriPV adoption across Odisha.
