Bhadrak: In a major breakthrough, the Bhadrak Cyber Police have arrested three members of an interstate cyber fraud gang after days of intensive investigation.
The arrested persons have been identified as Enayat Qadri, Sahawaz Qadri, and Mohammad Faran Khan. They were detained from the Old Bazaar police station area based on specific intelligence inputs.
During the operation, police seized significant incriminating materials from their possession, including cash amounting to Rs 2,01,000, two gold bars weighing 15 grams, 10 ATM cards, 4 passbooks, 5 expensive mobile phones, 3 pre-activated SIM cards, one PAN card, one driving licence, and two high-end bikes — one superbike valued at Rs 12 lakh and another Bullet motorcycle.
Four bank accounts linked to the gang have also been seized. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were running various lucrative online fraud schemes and had allegedly cyber-forged more than Rs 6 crore from people across different states. All fraudulent transactions were reportedly routed through these accounts.
Bhadrak Cyber Police officials stated that the gang was primarily targeting common people by luring them with attractive investment and other schemes. Further interrogation and investigation are underway, which may uncover more victims and additional links in the racket.
