Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for nine districts of Odisha, alerting people about the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in the next three hours.
According to the warning issued at 1:10 pm today, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Keonjhar and Nabarangapur districts. These districts have been issued yellow warning.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to remain alert and keep a close watch on the weather. Citizens have been urged to take necessary precautions and move to safer locations if thunderstorm activity intensifies, especially to protect themselves from lightning strikes and strong winds.
