Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a Yellow Nowcast Warning (Be Aware) for several districts of Odisha, forecasting thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph.
The warning, issued at 07: 10 am, stated that the weather event is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore, Balangir, and Nabrangpur during the next three hours.
The IMD has advised people in these districts to closely monitor the weather for any worsening conditions and remain prepared to move to safer locations to protect themselves from the risks associated with thunderstorms and lightning strikes.
