Rough Sea Alert: Fishermen Advised To Stay Ashore Due To Squally Weather

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a strong warning for fishermen.

According to IMD, squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph, is very likely to prevail along and off the Odisha coast on June 23 and 24. Sea conditions are expected to remain rough to very rough during these two days.

In view of the deteriorating sea conditions, fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast.

The warning comes just as the southwest monsoon has fully covered the entire state in a record 11 days. While the monsoon has brought much-needed rainfall to the state, it has also triggered rough weather along the coast.
