Jharsuguda: A woman and her boyfriend were arrested for allegedly killing her husband and dumping his body in a field in Jharsuguda district, police said on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Geeta Mirdha and Tikinu Kisan. The deceased is Shaktidhar Sahu of Sagarpali Sahupada Dunguripada under Rengali police limits.
According to police, Shaktidhar and Geeta had an argument on Tuesday night during which Tikinu was also present at their house. During the altercation, Tikinu allegedly pushed Shaktidhar and pinned him down while Geeta struck him on the head with a wooden stick. Shaktidhar died on the spot.
The duo then dumped the body in a nearby field to cover up the crime. Acting on information, Rengali police recovered the body and detained both accused. After interrogation, they were arrested. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
