Bhubaneswar: A student of Sai International Residential School (SIRS), Cuttack, has emerged among the regional toppers in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Board Examination 2026 following the re-evaluation of answer sheets.
Soumili Maitra, a Humanities stream student from Kolkata, West Bengal, secured 99.2 per cent marks after the re-evaluation, earning a place among the toppers in the Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh region.
The achievement has brought accolades to the school and has been widely celebrated by the school community. The management said Soumili’s success reflects her hard work and determination and would inspire fellow students to strive for academic excellence.
Sai International Residential School also registered an impressive overall performance in the CBSE Class 12 examinations this year, recording an average score of 89.4 per cent. According to the school, 26.1 per cent of its students scored 95 per cent or above, while 49.8 per cent secured more than 90 per cent marks.

She attributed the success to the student’s dedication, discipline and curiosity for learning, while extending congratulations to her parents and teachers.
