Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the holy city of Puri on Monday and paid a courteous visit to the Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb at his palace.

The Chief Minister was warmly received by the Gajapati Maharaja. During the cordial meeting, CM Majhi held detailed discussions on various matters concerning the upcoming Rath Yatra with Puri King. Majhi also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the grand festival to ensure its smooth and successful conduct. Besides, the two leaders also discussed other issues of mutual interest pertaining to the Jagannath culture, heritage, and overall development of Puri as a spiritual hub.

Later, the Chief Minister visited the Gundicha Rath Khala (chariot construction site) at Badadanda and reviewed the progress of the ongoing work for the sacred chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra. He interacted with the artisans, enquired about their requirements, and emphasized the need for timely and smooth completion of the chariot construction.

Taking to his X handle, CM said, “The role of the chariot artisans, who are carrying forward this great tradition with utmost devotion and dedication, is invaluable. Our government is committed to providing all necessary support for their convenience, safety, and the smooth construction of the chariots. By the grace of Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath, may this year’s Rath Yatra be completed peacefully and in a grand devotional atmosphere. Jai Jagannath!”

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Majhi joined thousands of devotees and had darshan of sibling deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra at the Snana Mandap during the sacred Snana Purnima festival.
