Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) will complete the recruitment examination for Sub-Inspector (SI) posts by October this year, OUSSSC Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain said on Wednesday, assuring aspirants that the fresh recruitment process will be fair, transparent, and free from irregularities.
Addressing a press conference, Swain said the State Government has put in place all necessary safeguards to ensure the examination is conducted without any lapses after the earlier test was cancelled following an alleged question paper leak.
He said candidates who lost the opportunity to appear for the examination due to its cancellation will be eligible to take the fresh test. Aspirants who have crossed the upper age limit in the intervening period will also be allowed to appear, ensuring that no candidate is disadvantaged because of the delay.
Swain clarified that there will be no change in the number of eligible applicants for the recruitment process. The examination pattern, syllabus, and selection procedure will remain unchanged, he added.
“The government is committed to conducting a fair, transparent, and error-free examination. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that the recruitment process is completed without any irregularities,” Swain said.
The SI recruitment examination was cancelled in late 2025 after allegations of a question paper leak surfaced.
With the OUSSSC now setting an October deadline, thousands of candidates awaiting the recruitment process are expected to benefit from the assurance that the examination will be held under enhanced security and monitoring arrangements.
