Cuttack: In a shocking incident, Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of Chauliaganj Police Station, was found dead inside her official quarters on Saturday.
According to police sources, IIC Beauty Mohanty’s body was found hanging in her quarter. The incident came to light after she failed to respond to repeated phone calls from fellow staff members. A team from the police station then rushed to her quarters. When she did not open the door despite repeated knocking, senior officers were informed. The police team later entered the quarters and recovered her hanging body.
The police suspect that the woman officer died by suicide.
According to preliminary investigation, a family dispute is believed to be the reason behind the tragedy.
Meanwhile, the body of IIC Mohanty has been sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.
