Brahmapur: The Office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Southern Division, Brahmapur, has directed all District Collectors and District Magistrates under its jurisdiction to ensure strict compliance with fire and electrical safety norms in healthcare institutions.
In an official communication issued by the Secretary to the RDC (Southern Division) on Friday, the districts have been instructed to submit detailed reports in a prescribed format on the status of fire safety measures and electrical safety inspections conducted in medical colleges, District Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs), and other healthcare facilities.
The directive refers to earlier communications from the Electrical Inspectorate-cum-Special Secretary to the Government in the Works Department, as well as previous letters issued by the RDC office on the same matter. Authorities have been asked to expedite the submission of compliance reports for onward transmission to the State Government.
The RDC office has emphasised the need for immediate compliance and timely reporting, underscoring the importance of safeguarding patient lives and preventing fire-related hazards in public health institutions across the division.
