Bhubaneswar: A major security breach occurred outside the Odisha Legislative Assembly late Tuesday night when a car allegedly driven by an intoxicated person crashed into a security barricade.
According to reports, the vehicle broke through the security cordon and smashed directly into the barricade, causing extensive damage. However, an accident was fortunately avoided due to the timely presence of the barrier.
Soon after the incident, police along with the Special Tactical Group (STG) commandos rushed to the spot. Security personnel immediately cordoned off the area and carried out a detailed inspection of the vehicle and its surroundings, given the sensitive location.
Meanwhile, two persons connected to the incident have been detained and are being questioned by the police.
The incident has raised concerns over security lapses outside the Odisha Legislative Assembly premises.
Further investigation is underway.
