Cuttack: A fire incident occurred on Thursday in the ICU rooms of a private Multi Speciality Hospital in Cuttack. According to hospital officials, the fire is suspected to have been caused by overheating of AC return and outdoor cables.
Flames were seen coming out from the AC return cable. The incident was immediately attended to by the hospital’s security staff. Using in-house fire fighting equipment, they managed to extinguish the fire in the incipient stage, well before fire service personnel arrived at the spot.
As a precautionary measure, three ICU patients were shifted safely to the nearby HDU rooms within the same hospital. No human life was lost and no person was injured in the incident.
Property loss is yet to be assessed. Fire Service personnel from Cuttack Fire Station and Chauliaganj Fire Station reached the spot and carried out a cooling operation. Officials confirmed that the fire has been completely extinguished.
