Bhubaneswar: More than one crore women beneficiaries of the Odisha government’s flagship Subhadra Yojana will receive the next instalment of financial assistance on August 28, coinciding with Raksha Purnima, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Monday.
The disbursement will be made during a state-level event to be held in Nayagarh, she said.
Parida stated that women who submitted their applications by August 28 and fulfil the eligibility norms will be considered for the benefit. She added that eligible beneficiaries who were part of the initial list and have pending instalments may receive multiple dues together, subject to verification.
As per latest data, a total of 1,15,75,633 applications have been registered under the Subhadra scheme so far. Of these, 3,17,966 fresh applications were received during the 2026-27 financial year.
After verification, 1,02,04,396 women were initially identified as eligible for the fifth instalment. Following further checks by district administrations, 5,277 beneficiaries were found deceased and their names were deleted from the list. Following verification and eligibility assessment, 1,02,04,396 women were initially identified as potential beneficiaries for the fifth instalment. However, district administrations subsequently confirmed the deaths of 5,277 beneficiaries and removed their names from the list.
With this revision, the final number of beneficiaries for the fifth instalment stands at 1,01,99,119 women.
It is pertinent to mention that under the Subhadra scheme, over Rs 12,064.86 crore has already been transferred directly to the bank accounts of more than one crore women through four previous instalments.
