Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a Yellow alert for nine districts of Odisha, warning of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during the next three hours.
According to the nowcast issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, at 4.05 pm, such weather conditions are very likely to occur at a few places over Baleshwar, Kendujhar, Jagatsingpur, Puri, Baragada, Nuapada, Anugola and Kataka districts.
The weather office advised people in the affected areas to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and plan their activities accordingly for safety.
The warning will remain in effect for the next three hours from the time of issue.
