Bhubaneswar: The Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the CSR arm of IMFA, has announced the recipients of the 47th Sarala Puraskar, instituted to honour outstanding literary achievement in Odia language.
This year the prestigious Sarala Puraskar has been awarded to noted Odia poet and essayist Dr Ashutosh Parida for his acclaimed poetry collection ‘Bishwas De Pruthwi’. The award recognizes his significant contribution to contemporary Odia literature.
IMPaCT also announced the Ila-Bansidhar Panda Kala Samman, instituted to honour lifetime excellence in art and culture. For this year, the Samman will be presented to Odissi Maestro Padma Guru Durga Charan Ranbir for his contribution to the performing arts, and to Sculptor and Art Educator Damodar Behera for excellence in visual arts.
In its announcement, the Trust said the awards celebrate the voices, vision and creative excellence that enrich Odisha’s cultural landscape. The Sarala Puraskar carries a cash award of Rs 5 lakh along with a citation and memento. The date and venue for the award ceremony will be announced by the Trust in due course.
