Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Secondary Education, Odisha has asked all District Education Officers to ensure proper observance of Teachers’ Day and Children’s Day in secondary schools across the state. In a letter issued to DEOs, the Directorate said the two days should be celebrated in all schools as per the prescribed practice.
However, it clarified that regular classes must resume immediately after the observance as per the timetable to maintain continuity in the teaching-learning process. The Directorate has requested DEOs to issue necessary instructions to all Headmasters and Headmistresses under their jurisdiction and ensure compliance with the directive in every school.
Teachers’ Day is observed on September 5 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, while Children’s Day is celebrated on November 14 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
