Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are likely to witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during the next three hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning issued on Sunday.
According to the alert issued at 4:15 pm, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is very likely to occur at a few places in 13 districts of the state during the period.
The districts under the weather alert are Ganjam, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Sundaragada, Debagada, Anugola, Kalahandi, Bhadrak, Nayagada, Kandhamal, Kataka, including Kataka City, and Koraput.
The IMD has advised people in the affected areas to remain alert and keep a close watch on changing weather conditions.
Residents have also been advised to plan their activities accordingly and take necessary precautions in view of the possibility of thunder and lightning.
