Bhubaneswar: An Odia couple who had travelled from Australia to Kathmandu for a holiday has reportedly gone missing following the devastating floods and landslides that have struck Nepal, raising serious concerns among their family members.
As per reports, Sandeep Mohapatra and his wife Siddharthi Kumari Sahu had arrived in Nepal for sightseeing. After the catastrophic natural disaster, there has been no contact with either of them. The severe floods and landslides have inundated large areas and disrupted communication networks across the affected regions, making it extremely difficult to locate the missing pair.
It is learnt that the Odia couple had been residing in Australia since 2018. They travelled from Australia to Nepal on August 22. Their mobile phones have been switched off since yesterday, with the last known location recorded near the Immigration Office.
Meanwhile, the ongoing rescue and search operations continue as authorities work to restore connectivity and locate those unaccounted for in the affected areas.
