Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a man allegedly beat his wife to death and buried her body in the backyard of their house in Indipur village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Kousalya Pradhan.
According to police, her husband Girish Pradhan assaulted her fatally on Friday night following an argument. After killing her, he reportedly buried the body behind their house in an attempt to conceal the crime.
Acting on information provided by villagers, Dhenkanal Sadar police reached the village on Saturday, recovered the body, and registered a case. The accused husband has been arrested.
Sadar police station officer-in-charge Priyabrata Das confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation into the matter is underway.
