Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government’s Higher Education Department on Tuesday extended the deadline for submission of online applications under the Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students.
As per a notification issued by the department, the last date for submitting applications has been extended from September 1, 2026, to September 18, 2026. Interested students can apply through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal at scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
The Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme has been introduced to provide financial assistance to SC and ST students seeking to pursue postgraduate and Ph.D. courses at the top 200 QS-ranked foreign institutes and universities. The ranking applicable for selection will be based on the latest available QS rankings at the time of submission of the application.
Under the scheme, SC and ST students with an annual family income of up to Rs 12 lakh are eligible to avail themselves of the benefits.
A total of 50 SC/ST students will be supported under the scheme.
The extended deadline applies to students seeking the scholarship for the academic years 2025-26 (December 2025/January 2026) and 2026-27.
The Higher Education Department has advised eligible and interested students to submit their applications within the revised deadline. Detailed guidelines regarding the Bidesh Sikhyabruti Scheme are available on the website of the Higher Education Department.
