Bhubaneswar: Rituals at the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar have been disrupted following a dispute between two groups of temple servitors.
According to reports, the Puja Panda and Patri servitors clashed over service rights, leading to a halt in the temple’s daily rituals. Puja Panda servitors stopped performing the rituals after the Badasinghara besha. Due to the differences between the two groups, the prescribed daily rituals of the deity could not proceed further.
Temple administration has scheduled a meeting with the concerned servitor groups today to resolve the issue. Puja Panda informed that discussions during the meeting are expected to restore normalcy in the rituals.
Due to frequent disputes, devotees are facing difficulties and are waiting when the differences will be settled and the rituals of Lord Lingaraj will resume as usual.
