Bhubaneswar: The Deep Depression over westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal is moving very slowly towards the coast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its latest bulletin.
As per the bulletin, the system moved westwards with a speed of 5 kmph during past 06 hours, and lay centred over the same region near latitude 18.0°N and longitude 84.6°E, about 60 km southeast of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 140 km east-northeast of Visakhapatnam, 150 km south of Gopalpur (Odisha) and 240 km south-southwest of Puri.
It is very likely to move west-northwestwards, and cross North Andhra Pradesh – South Odisha coasts between Visakhapatnam & Gopalpur, close to Kalingapatnam as a Deep Depression by tonight.
