Puri: Members of the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee met Sankaracharya at Govardhan Peetha in Puri on Saturday.
Under the leadership of Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, permanent president of the Shrimandir Management Committee, and acting chairman and State Chief Secretary Anu Garg, members of the committee and other representatives met Govardhan Peetha Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati.
On the occasion, the Management Committee took advice from the Jagadguru on various systems and projects to be implemented in the temple, along with discussions on important religious issues.
The committee briefed the Shankaracharya about the profile and progress of projects decided in the Management Committee meeting, including Adarsh Gurukul, Shri Jagannath Interpretation Centre, Shri Jagannath Pilgrimage Centre, Jagannath Ballav Park Project and Raghunandan Library.
Jagadguru Nischalananda Saraswati observed that anarchy is prevailing across the world and the country and dharma and culture are getting corrupted, and said this should not happen in Odisha. He said that as per the Supreme Court’s decision to protect Sanatan Dharma culture, if his advice is sought, he can give proper guidance.
The Shankaracharya also welcomed the queue system for darshan to be introduced in the temple and suggested orderly darshan, convenience and peace for devotees.
