Koraput: The decomposed body of Damodar Tripathy, a warder posted at Koraput Jail, was recovered from his official quarters after neighbours alerted police about a foul smell emanating from the premises, police said.
Tripathy, a native of Kelanagar in Jeypore, had reportedly been absent from duty since September 25, according to preliminary police findings.
Acting on the neighbours’ information, police reached the quarters, broke open the door and found his decomposed body inside.
The cause of death is yet to be ascertained. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
