Bhubaneswar: A 50-year-old man was critically injured after a speeding black SUV hit him while he was crossing the road in the Nayapalli area of Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The victim, identified as Bibhuti Bhushan Chaini, a resident of Bharatpur on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, was crossing the road after purchasing sweets when the SUV struck him and fled without stopping, according to reports.
He was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.
Following the incident, Nayapalli police launched an investigation to identify the SUV and its driver.
Police are examining CCTV footage from the accident site and nearby areas to gather clues and trace the vehicle involved in the incident.
Further investigation is underway.
