Bhubaneswar: The Kandhamal district administration has allowed movement of light motor vehicles on the Daringbadi-Gajalbadi Ghat road after temporary repair.
Kandhamal Collector Vedbhushan issued an office order permitting only light motor vehicles on the ghat section. The ghat road was damaged after Cyclone ‘Arnab’ and vehicular movement was restricted. The road was closed since October 27.
Meanwhile, for the interest of the public and after temporary repair of the road, it has been decided to allow light motor vehicles only.
The Collector has directed all concerned authorities including Superintendent of Police, Kandhamal, Superintending Engineer, National Highways, Executive Engineer, Sub-Collector, Tahasildar and local police to ensure strict compliance and restrict movement of heavy vehicles on the said route.
The order will remain in force until further orders.
