Ayodhya: Saints and seers in Ayodhya on Friday welcomed the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s verdict declaring the Bhojshala complex’s disputed area as a temple, describing the decision as a “historic victory” for Sanatan Dharma and expressing gratitude to the judiciary for delivering what they termed a just ruling.

Reacting to the verdict, Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das Maharaj said the decision delivered by the High Court was historic and claimed that namaz would no longer be possible at the site.

“The decision delivered by the High Court is a historic one. Muslim community members used to offer namaz there, but now that will not be possible,” he told IANS.

Mahant Sitaram Das of Saket Bhavan Temple in Ayodhya Dham also welcomed the ruling and thanked the court for its decision.

“The decision given by the High Court today is highly commendable, and I express my gratitude to the court. Satyamev Jayate,” he said.

Mahant Dr Deveshacharya Ji Maharaj also expressed happiness over the verdict and termed it a moment of pride for followers of Sanatan traditions.

Several saints in Ayodhya collectively described the High Court ruling as a victory of Sanatan Dharma and appreciated the efforts of judges, lawyers and all those associated with presenting the case before the court.

According to the saints, the verdict has come in favour of Sanatan traditions and has brought happiness among the religious community in Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, some saints also criticised the controversy surrounding offering namaz on roads in West Bengal and demanded strict action against public obstruction. They said religious activities should not create inconvenience for the general public and urged authorities to ensure law and order is maintained.

The disputed area in the Bhojshala complex in Madhya Pradesh has long remained a disputed site, with both Hindu and Muslim communities staking claim over its religious character.

The High Court verdict has triggered strong reactions from religious groups and political circles across the country.
