Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the state government will recruit over 22,500 police personnel in the next three years to strengthen law and order.

Addressing the media after the Inspector General’s (IG) Conference at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal, the Chief Minister said the recruitment drive was being launched after an eight‑year gap.

CM Yadav stated that the process for Sub‑Inspector recruitment had already begun, and filling more than 22,000 positions would be carried out in a phased manner, with approximately 7,500 posts being filled each year. A new Police Recruitment Board is being established to streamline the process. This major initiative aims to bolster the state police force significantly.

Praising the Madhya Pradesh Police, the Chief Minister highlighted their exemplary performance marked by sensitivity, proactivity, vigilance and a strong spirit of public service. He noted that continuous recruitment was essential to maintain robust law and order.

The state police, working in coordination with central forces, has successfully eradicated the long‑standing Naxalism menace from Madhya Pradesh, setting a commendable example for the country.

CM Yadav expressed confidence that by the time of the grand Simhastha‑2028 faith festival, the strengthened police force would ensure seamless arrangements for millions of devotees.

He directed senior officers to prioritise victim‑centric policing, treating complainants with courtesy and ensuring prompt action on their grievances.

Key directives issued during the IG Conference include effective measures to prevent cybercrimes, enhance road safety, curb human trafficking and provide robust protection to women and children. The Chief Minister emphasised concrete and time‑bound actions on these fronts.

This recruitment push is seen as a strategic step to modernise and expand the police force ahead of major events like Simhastha‑2028. It is expected to create significant employment opportunities for the youth of Madhya Pradesh while reinforcing internal security.

The state government remains committed to building a more responsive and efficient police system that enjoys public trust and effectively tackles emerging challenges.
