New Delhi: With the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) lodging First Information Report (FIR), to probe the alleged criminal conspiracy, suppression or destruction of evidence, into death of celebrity manager Disha Salian, the probe agency’s gold medallist officer Seema Pahuja has taken charge of the high-profile case.

Currently posted as Superintendent of Police in Special Crime Unit at CBI Headquarters in Delhi, Pahuja will be joined by other CBI officers, including the investigating officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Puran Kumar, to probe Salian’s death case.

The CBI officer has been at the helm in multiple complex criminal cases and forensic evidence investigations, including high-profile and sensitive cases.

Pahuja was part of the team investigating the alleged rape and murder of a post graduate woman trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in 2024.

She was also part of the 15-member CBI team formed to investigate the Hathras case in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, Pahuja also played a role in the Unnao rape case investigation. The CBI had also tasked the senior officer with investigating the infamous Gudiya case in Himachal Pradesh.

Moreover, Seema Pahuja was also involved in the probe of the rape and murder of a minor girl in Shimla.

Pahuja is also a gold medal recipient for Best Investigating Officer in 2021.

Disha Salian, who worked as a celebrity manager, died in Mumbai in June 2020 in suspicious circumstances. Her death occurred shortly before the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, leading to speculation and demands for a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding both cases.

On Tuesday, her father Satish Salian expressed faith on the CBI’s investigation into the case and said that he will be happy “only when the accused are hanged”.

Speaking to IANS, Satish Salian said that he is “fully confident” about the CBI probe.

“I am at peace that the case has been registered, though I will be happy only when the accused are punished.

He also demanded that the accused including Aaditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, their bodyguards and others be hanged for the gruesome crime, resulting in the untimely demise of his daughter.
