Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for several districts of Odisha for the next five days.
As per IMD prediction valid upto 8:30 am of September 17, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput and Gajapati. Besides, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
From 08:30 am of September 17 to 08:30 am of September 18, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
During the subsequent 24 hours upto 08: 30am of September 19, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Baleshwar, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj, while thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
From September 19 to 20, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati and Ganjam. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching upto 30-40 kmph is also very likely over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
From September 20 to 21, heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati and Ganjam, along with thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind reaching upto 30-40 kmph at one or two places over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
