Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, a 10-year-old boy was killed in a Naxal land mine explosion in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, bordering Malkangiri.
The boy was identified as Hidma Kabasi. Soon after incident, he was immediately admitted to Bijapur district hospital for treatment. The boy died during treatment.
Hidma died due to heavy bleeding. He sustained serious injuries on his hands and legs. During first aid, he was brought to District Hospital, Bijapur for better treatment.
Bijapur SP Jitendra Jacob informed that Naxals planted landmines targeting security personnel. As this happened on the first day of Martyrs Week, this shameful act of Maoists was condemned in all quarters, SP said.
