12 Hurt, Four Critical As Bus Overturns On Khordha-Balangir National Highway

Bhubaneswar: As many as 12 passengers were injured, with 4 reported to be in critical condition, as the bus they were travelling in overturned near Sariganda Chhak on Khurda-Balangir National Highway on Friday morning.

According to reports, the bus lost control while trying to overtake a truck and overturned in a nearby paddyfield near Sariganda Square. Out of the 17 passengers on board, 12 sustained injuries. However, the condition of four passengers is stated to be critical. However, the bus driver managed to flee the scene following the mishap.

The injured passengers were immediately rushed to the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. The critically injured passengers are being treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Upon being informed, police have begun an investigation into it.
