Bhadrak: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Child Helpline officials rescued 13 minor children from the Jan Shatabdi Express on Tuesday following a tip-off about their suspicious movement.
Acting on an alert received by the Bhadrak Child Helpline, railway authorities immediately launched a search operation across multiple coaches of the train. The children, reportedly belonging to minority communities and being transported from Bihar, were suspected to be moved under unclear circumstances.
Although the operation began at Bhadrak railway station, the train had already departed by then. Officials continued the search operation en route and extended it up to Jajpur, where they meticulously checked each coach of the moving train.
After an intensive search, all 13 minors were successfully traced and rescued from different compartments of the Jan Shatabdi Express. The children were later brought back to Bhadrak for protection, care, and further inquiry.
Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain the purpose of their travel, identify the persons responsible for their movement, and determine whether any trafficking angle is involved.
