Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to the State Capital scheduled for June 20, the Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements.

A total of 133 platoons of police forces will be deployed for security purposes. Additionally, 16 officers of the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) or Superintendent of Police (SP), 33 additional DCPs, 93 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) or Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), 106 inspectors, 455 sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors, 189 women police personnel, and 291 home guards will be deployed.

To manage traffic and crowd flow, specific routes and parking arrangements have been designated for vehicles arriving from various directions. The roadshow route will be from the airport to Janata Maidan via AG Square, Raj Bhawan Square, Jaydev Vihar, and other key areas. Traffic congestion is expected along these routes from 3 PM to 6 PM or until the event concludes.

Commuters are advised to avoid the affected areas and plan their travel accordingly. Parking facilities have been arranged at multiple locations across the city, including Airport Golei to Pani Tanki, Meteorological Ground, Shastrinagar to Engineering School, and other areas.

A security review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Police Commissioner Suresh Chandra Devdatta Singh, where detailed discussions were held with police personnel and officials deployed for security duties. Additional security measures, including the deployment of central forces and bomb disposal squads, have been put in place to ensure the Prime Minister’s safety.
