17 Injured As Bus Overturns In Mayurbhanj’s Bahalda Area

Baripada: As many as 17 passengers were injured as the bus they were travelling in lost balance and overturned near Jialada Chenchala Galapol under Bahalda police station area in Mayurbhanj district, on Saturday.

The mishap took place when the bus named Appu was on its way to Karanjia from Jaritandi.

According to reports, the bus driver claimed that the brakes failed, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash. Two passengers sustained serious injuries, while others received minor injuries. All injured passengers were rushed to Rairangpur Hospital for treatment, with the critically injured being referred to Baripada’s Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital.

Fire services and Bahalda police reached the scene and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
