Bhubaneswar: A tragic accident has cast a shadow over the ongoing Raja festival celebrations in Kendrapara district. Two children were critically injured after a Bolero vehicle lost control and rammed into a traditional Raja Doli (swing) in Tanar village under Nikirai Police Station.
The incident occurred on Monday morning around 9 am while children were joyfully playing on the swing set up in the village.
According to eyewitnesses, the Bolero vehicle suddenly lost balance and crashed directly into the crowded Raja Doli. Two children identified as Radhika Das and Rahul Das, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Some other children present at the spot also received minor injuries. The seriously injured children were immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. However, driver of the Bolero fled from the scene immediately after the accident, leaving the vehicle behind.
The accident has caused widespread concern among locals, especially as Raja festival celebrations are in full swing across Odisha.
