2 Minor Sisters Drown In Pond In Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Two minor sisters drowned while playing near a pond at Gandhi Chhak under Basta police station in Balasore district, on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as the daughters of Sekh Tairuddin and Sekh Najimuddin.

According to reports, the two children were playing near a pond situated at the backyard of their residence. However, they accidentally fell into the water and drowned.

When the sisters failed to return home after a prolonged period, their family members launched a search.

During this search, the bodies of the children were discovered in the pond. They were immediately pulled out and rushed to Basta Community Health Centre (CHC), but doctors declared them dead upon arrival.

On being informed, the Basta police arrived at the scene, initiated an investigation, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.
