Bhubaneswar: Some miscreants allegedly pelted stones at the convoy of two Odisha ministers in the Rairangpur area of Mayurbhanj district on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred during the visit of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, who were in the district to assess the damage caused by the recent hailstorm.
According to reports, the ministers arrived in Mayurbhanj by helicopter and later proceeded by road to inspect the affected areas.
However, as the convoy was returning to Bhubaneswar, it came under attack. Several vehicles in the convoy were damaged, with window glasses shattered due to the stone pelting.
Additionally, a police constable sustained injuries during the incident and was immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
In a related development, locals in the Bangriposi area of Mayurbhanj staged a road blockade, demanding adequate relief for those affected by the hailstorm.
