Bhawanipatna: More than 20 students of a private school were injured in a bee attack during Saraswati Puja celebrations at Duarasuni village on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna town in Kalahandi district. Today marks the occasion of Basant Panchami or Saraswati Puja.
While Saraswati Puja was being celebrated with great enthusiasm in various educational institutions, a swarm of bees suddenly attacked students of a private school in a village on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna city in Kalahandi district. The bees had built two beehives and a nest within the school premises.
During the Saraswati Puja celebrations, the bees attacked the students and school staff, injuring over 20 individuals. The injured were immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment. After receiving medical attention, all the injured students and staff returned home.
