3 Arrested In Fategarh Gang Rape Case

Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested three accused persons in connection with the gang rape of a 21-year-old young woman in Fatehgarh police station area of ​​Nayagarh district.

According to a statement issued by the Odisha Police State Headquarters at Cuttack, the accused persons have been forwarded to court.

Notably, the victim filed a complaint at Fategarh police station on Friday (October 25). According to complaint filed by the victim, on last Sunday (October 20) at around 6:10 PM while she was returning from Fategarh Ram temple along with her friend three unknown persons stopped them near Pithakhai forest.

The accused persons forcibly took both of them to the forest and molested the victim while recording obscene videos.  Threatening to make the videos viral they gang-raped her.

A case (Case No. 276, dated 25.10.2024) has been registered in this connection in the police station. After receiving the complaint the police immediately took action and arrested three accused persons involved in the incident. Further, investigation in the matter is underway.

Inspector General of Police for Crime Against Women & Children Wing (CAW & CW) Shyni S is monitoring the case.
