According to reports, a nine-member medical team, including a doctor from Mohana Hospital and a team of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), recently visited the village to take stock of the situation. The team distributed medicine to people down with the flu.

“Chickenpox has been spreading rapidly in our village for the past month, infecting many residents. Fortunately, an ASHA worker visited us recently and distributed medication to those affected,” said Bijay Sabar, a resident of the village.

The Mohana Community Health Centre official, Dr Jay Panda said that the situation in the village is now under control.

“The medical team conducted a door-to-door survey and found that the chickenpox reared its ugly head 12 days ago. A student was the first case of contagious illness, which rapidly spread to others.
