Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department on Monday released the second selection merit list for admission to Undergraduate (+3 Degree) courses for the academic session 2026-27, with 41,578 students selected in the second round of Phase-I admissions.
The second selection list was published on July 20 at 2 PM. According to the statistics released by the department, a total of 2,87,519 seats are available across higher education institutions in the state, while 2,37,200 students had applied during Phase-I admissions.
In the first round of selection, 1,78,782 students were shortlisted, of whom 88,480 completed their admissions. Meanwhile, 48,614 students opted for the Slide/Float option to be considered in subsequent rounds.
Among the students selected in the second round, 23,839 are female candidates, 17,737 are male candidates and two are transgender candidates.
Ravenshaw University, Kataka, continued to dominate the cut-off chart across major streams. In the Arts stream, the highest cut-off was recorded at 99.67% in Economics at Ravenshaw University.
In the Science stream, Ravenshaw University recorded the highest cut-offs in both categories — 96.17% for Physics under Physical Science and 94.33% for Botany under Biological Science. The university also topped the Commerce stream with a cut-off of 93.67%.
Among self-financing courses, Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (Autonomous) College, Bhubaneswar, recorded the highest cut-off of 92% in Computer Science. In the Law stream, Madhusudan Law University, Kataka, registered the highest cut-off of 88.83% for the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B course.
Stream-wise, the highest number of students selected in the second round belonged to the Arts stream, with 23,815 candidates, followed by Science with 13,331 candidates. Commerce accounted for 2,915 selections, while 1,168 students were selected in self-financing courses, 286 in Shastri courses and 63 in Law courses.
The department has instructed students who have opted for the Freeze option to report to their allotted higher education institutions between July 21 (10 AM) and July 23 (5 PM) to complete admission formalities.
The UG admission process in Odisha is being conducted through the centralised admission system to ensure a transparent and streamlined selection procedure for students across the state.
