Bhubaneswar: As many as five persons were injured, two of them critically, after a car crashed into a container truck near Talanagara under Soro police limits on National Highway 16 in Balasore district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
As per reports, the accident occurred when the car, traveling from Mayurbhanj’s Bariapada to Puri’s Kakatpur, collided with the container truck, which then veered off the road and crashed into a nearby shop. The container driver, however, managed to flee the scene.
Three persons in the car suffered minor injuries, while the driver and another passenger were seriously injured. The car was severely damaged in the accident.
National Highway patrolling team reached the spot and sent the injured to the Soro Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. As the condition of two passengers deteriorated, they were shifted to a hospital in Cuttack.
