Malkangiri: In a horrific incident, five people, including three women, were beaten to death at Etkal village under Konta police limits in neighbouring Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district for practicing witchcraft on Sunday. They were reportedly beaten with sticks and iron rods by villagers who suspected that the family practiced witchcraft and was responsible for all the ills in the village.

The deceased have been identified as Mausam Kanna (60), his son Mausam Buchcha (34), his daughter Mausam Biri, Karka Lachchi (43), and Mausam Arjo (32). All the deceased are from the same family.
