Bhubaneswar: The 50th Lingaraj Mahotsav, a cultural extravaganza, will kick off on March 26 and run till March 31 in Bhubaneswar.
Organized by Ekamra Sanskrutika Prakashani Sanstha, the event will feature over 700 artistes showcasing various traditional performances. The festival aims to promote Odisha’s art and culture, coinciding with the Rukuna Ratha Yatra of Lord Lingaraj.
According to reports, artistes from Odisha and neighboring states, including troupes from Kolkata’s Purulia Chhau and Jharkhand’s Dhemsha dance will participate in the carnival. Notable performers include Guru Gajendra Panda, Guru Prativa Panda, and Padma Shri Durga Charan Ranbir. The event will be graced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, ministers and dignitaries.
The event will start on March 26 and continue till March 31, spanning six days, with over 700 artists participating. The Mahotsav is organized to promote Odisha’s art and culture, coinciding with the Rukuna Ratha Yatra, said Suresh Kumar Routray, President, and Sanat Mishra, General Secretary of the organizing institution.
