Bhubaneswar: A total of 556 enterprises have been successfully established under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in 10 districts of Western Odisha during the financial year 2024-25, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Minister Gokulananda Mallick informed the state assembly on Wednesday.
The minister also stated that margin money amounting to Rs 1,352.39 lakhs has been released for these enterprises.
In a written reply to a question by Bhawanipatna (SC) MLA Sagar Charan Das, the minister said that the programme is expected to generate employment opportunities for approximately 6,116 individuals across these districts.
The distribution of the newly established enterprises is as follows: Sambalpur (59), Bargarh (102), Bolangir (71), Jharsuguda (37), Sundergarh (82), Boudh (24), Deogarh (46), Kalahandi (49), Nuapada (45), and Sonepur (41).
