Bhubaneswar: The Talcher subdivision police fined 85 trucks for illegal parking on the main road, despite prior warnings.
The Regional Transport Authority, along with the Sub-Collector and police department, took action against the vehicle authorities on Friday for violating no-parking rules.
According to reports, truck drivers have been illegally parking their vehicles along the roadside, despite repeated warnings from authorities. Many trucks, both loaded with coal and ash and empty ones, were parked on both sides of the main road leading to Talcher town, creating significant traffic issues for local residents. The community has raised complaints about this ongoing problem.
As a response, the Talcher transport department supported by local police imposed fines on the 85 trucks for violating no-parking regulations.
Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manas Ranjan Barik advised truck owners to refrain from parking on both sides of the road.
