Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended Pradipta Kumar Sethi, Additional Tahasildar and in-charge Tahasildar of Binjharpur Tahasil in Jajpur district, while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a landowner for favourable demarcation of his land.
According to an official communique, the Vigilance team laid a trap based on a complaint and caught Sethi red-handed a short while ago while receiving the bribe amount. The entire tainted cash of ₹30,000 was recovered from his possession and seized on the spot.
Following the operation, a case has been registered against the accused at Cuttack Vigilance Police Station. The case has been recorded as Vigilance PS Case No. 36/2025 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Further investigation in the matter is underway, the release said.
