Bhubaneswar: A postgraduate medical student of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar has allegedly died by suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Divya, a resident of Karnataka.
According to preliminary information, Divya used to live in a rented house with a male friend. She was found dead on Tuesday afternoon. Police recovered her body from the residence.
Upon being informed, Khandagiri Police reached the spot and seized the body. The exact reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
It is learnt that family members of the deceased are arriving in Bhubaneswar from Karnataka on Wednesday. Police are expected to hand over the body to them after completion of formalities. Post-mortem will be conducted after arrival of her family members.
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
